November Player of the Month

Club news
December 15, 2024

It's that time again, and there were some incredible nominations for November's Player of the Month. Check them out below....

Minis

For November’s player of the month, it was a really difficult choice between 2players.

Orpheas really stood out all month, he just quietly gets on with everything he's been amazing, he does what he has to first time really well he’s going to be some player. However, Shine was brilliant this month too and that last training session he really shone. He got the ball a lot and was more focused than any other session.

He gets the job done and is also careful and remembers what to do. He is an all-round amazing player. Now, between Orpheas and Shine. It was extremely tight all month and it came down to the final session. If I could give it to 2 players I would but Shine just edged past Orpheas. They were both brilliant that session but Shine was better than any of his other training sessions, he was amazing. The Mini Doughboys player of the month is Shine with Orpheas coming a very close 2nd.

Well done to you both.

Under8’s

We would like to nominate Barney for player of the month of November, who at just8 years old is already making waves on the football field. When focused Barney shows remarkable skills and dedication to the game, particularly when it comes to his left foot. He without a doubt has one of the best left foots about for his age. This season we have not lost a game yet and he alone in 10 league games has scored an amazing 23 goals which is just truly incredible, not only this I don’t think there has been a game this season where he hasn’t got an assist.

This season alone won his fair share of man of the match awards which isn’t just given out by us coaches but the parents too. His confidence increases each week which we hope will only progress further. He is a brilliant asset to the squad. Well done Barney.

Under10’s

Our nomination for the POTM award is Ethan. We've seen a change in attitude over the last few weeks which with a renewed focus, has led to much improvement performance. Ethan has taken his game to the next level by taking a hold of games and not only chipping in with goals, but also offering support defensively.

We're starting to see a more consistent level of performance which is at the top level of Ethan's game.

Under11’s

Ben is my nomination for player of the month. With back-to-back wins during November, Ben shone bright in both. His contribution in these two wins was massive. He played with confidence and composure and his ball winning stats were off the chart! But then, after he'd won the ball, he had the skill, the belief and the swagger to drive forward from the back, take players on, organise teammates around him and constantly be driving the whole team into advanced attacking positions.

During one match, Ben won the ball on the edge of our box, then proceeded to weave his way through the entire opposition team, the complete length of the pitch, then unselfishly gave it to our striker for a simple finish. It's special moments like this that will stay with us, and serve to remind us what a fantastic and entertaining product youth football really is.

Ben already knows that he went up a level in these games, however with that, comes greater expectations. He is reminded of how hard he had to work for two results. So naturally, my challenge to him from now on, is to bring that A game and those dominating performances with you every single week. I'm sure Ben will accept this challenge.

Under12’s

Our P.O.T.M is Chelston Meade. We feel he has really stepped up and been such a key player. He has really come out of himself and is a crucial part of the team, he gets on really well with all his teammates and his attitude has been really good on and off the pitch. He has been really supportive of the rest of his teammates.

His attendance has been excellent, He turns up for each training session, and gets stuck in.

Recently he has changed his position on the pitch, and has taken the change really well, without any questions and has been giving his all each match and really has delivered in a big way for the team.

Under13 Lion’s

This month, Aarushan has exemplified leadership at matches and in training. His desire and determination have driven the team forward with relentless work ethic and commitment. As captain, Aarushan has led by example with mental toughness and resilience in challenging fixtures, helping secure wins and respectable results against top opposition. Defensively, his quick decision making and sharp reactions have kept the backline solid. His tactical awareness makes him one of the most influential players, consistently neutralising threats and launching attacks. Aarushan’s leadership, intelligence, and determination make him a deserving nominee for Player of the Month. He’s a Machine!!!

Under13 Panthers

U13Panthers player of the month for November, is our very own pocket rocket, our number 4. Charli Kola.

Charli can play on either wing and has even covered the right-back role when needed, without moaning about doing so. Charli's determination and energy help him compete against bigger players, and he never seems to tire. He always comes off the pitch with a smile on his face. He is a proper character and a joy to have around the team. He picked up both coaches and parents, player of the match awards in the same game, this month, both really well deserved. Even though results have not gone our way in November, Charli's head hasn't dropped. He keeps going until the end of the game. He probably should have even scored a couple, had it not been for the opposition goalkeeper. As coaches we couldn't be prouder of Charli. Well done and well-deserved player of the month for us.

Under14 Tigers

Our nomination this month isn't about how this person plays, it's about how they respond to a challenge. At the start of the month Edijs was having some issues with lateness and behaviour, both at football and outside of it, and with his mum's blessing we sat him down and had a conversation about his commitment to the team, and also how we expected him to conduct himself in general. Our team agreed to setting and holding ourselves to higher standards this year, and this fell easily within that agreement.

Since that moment, Edijs has completely turned things around. He's been early to every session, hasn't missed one, and more than that he has stepped up on the pitch too, playing some of the best football he's ever played, including bagging a rare headed goal in our last game.

It's easy to forget that Edijs plays a year up, when he plays like he has this month he can more than hold his own in this age group. If he were in his own age group, he'd be an absolute monster of a player!

Whether or not Edijs wins this award, he's had a transformational October, and if he keeps showing this level of commitment and effort, he could do great things going forward.

Well done Edijs, and thank you.

Our POTM nomination for November 2024 is Ethan!

We had a couple of contenders for this month, both very much in form, but when you read the following you will quite clearly see why we had to go for Ethan!

Ethan joined us just over a month ago as his old team "Siam U15s"unfortunately folded and let me start by describing him with his impact to the team.

Since he joined we have played 5 games, he has played them all, we won all 5 games, he has scored a goal in every game, a total of 6 goals and POTM in one game.

Do I need to go any further? 🙂 IMPACT= ETHAN!

You really cannot argue with those stats, but having said that he actually brings much more to the team than just that. He has fitted in so well to the team dynamics which is very important for me and it feels like he has been with us for years - a sign of a very grounded, talented and gifted young man.

Ethan has been a breath of fresh air, a calm softly spoken lad that is aggressive on the pitch and tall in stature that gives us a very strong focal point in attack.

Our thinking was to play him as a dynamic attacking midfielder, which we may still use him as, but with players not available he has gone up top and just basically done the business.

We are super proud to nominate you Ethan, you have set a very high bar for yourself and others - the scary part is that we know you can get better as well!

This month's winner, by just a fraction, is Barney in the Under 8's, congratulations Barney!

There were a massive FOUR nominations tied in 2nd place this month, Shine, Ben, Ethan and Aarushan, all of you - and all of our nominations in fact - should be very proud of yourselves, we certainly are for you.
