December Player of the Month

Club news
January 7, 2025

We wrap up 2024 with the tightest competition for Player of the Month of the entire year! There were 3 players all tied after the first round of votes, with the eventual winner edging it by only the smallest of margins. Here's your nominations...

Under 7s

Our player of the month is Roy. He’s a coach's dream! Does what he's asked 1st time and gets it 1st time. His enthusiasm for the game is what sets him apart. It’s a privilege to see the joy on his face when he has the ball at his feet. He was the main reason why I started the under 7s. If we need a defender he’ll do it, if we need a GK he’ll volunteer, if I said I need someone to be a game changer this weekend (a sub) he’ll do it. He’s such a caring welcoming lad who appreciates his team mates like he’s known them for years. Keep up the hard work Roy you’re gonna be some player 👍🏼

Under 10s

My POTM nomination for December goes to Cliff Nyambodza. Cliff's performances have stepped up a gear this season, and Cliff has adapted to play in various positions to support the team. Cliff even managed a hat-trick from defence, having played the first half in goal!

His overall contribution to the team is growing, Cliff always plays with a smile and has a great attitude to the game.

Under 11's

Sammy is my player of the month nomination for December. He has impressed me a lot in recent games. Sammy is already a skilful player with the ball at his feet, but he's also been working hard on improving his upper body strength, which in turn has aided our ball retention in attacking areas of the pitch, and created more goal scoring opportunities for himself and for team mates.

Matches were thin on the ground in December but in training, Sammy is always first to arrive. His attitude and behaviour in training are first class. It is an absolute pleasure to coach such a nice and engaging young man who loves coming to football and representing this football club with a passion. Keep working hard Sammy, I can see your game and ability levels developing and improving each week that goes by.

Under 12's

Our nomination for player of the month for December goes to Mo. I honest don't know where to start with this one, since joining us a couple of games into the season he has had such a positive impact to the team during training sessions and games he not only wants to improve himself but also his team mates around him.

The football abilities this lad possesses are something special with positive comments made every game by opposition coach's and parents alike.

His hard work and determination during games has seriously helped the team this season he is fearless with the ball at his feet and scored some vital & absolutely ridiculous goals so far this season.

An absolute dream to coach keep it up Mo ⚽

Under 13 Panthers

Our player of the month for December is Zayde Haque. Zayde has had a fantastic December for the Panthers with 1 goal and 7 assists across our 2 games, this month. Zayde oozes professionalism, he is usually the first one to arrive at training, even beating the coaches on a number of occasions. Sometimes in matches I think that his hard work and effort can go unseen because it is the same high-level every match. He is fearless and will often try tricks and turns in the games, which more often than not, pay off. Vocally, you certainly know when Zayde is on the pitch, he will often be screaming for the ball or yelling encouragement to his team mates. He takes the losses hard (there have been a few), but his energy and attitude never falter. When needed he has played in unfamiliar positions to help the team, no arguments he just gets on with it and gives his all. Zayde is the heartbeat of the team, who pretty much covers every blade of grass and a massive personality for us.

It's sometimes hard to believe that we are the first team he has played for.

Under 13 Lions

Raresh has been exceptional this month, showcasing his incredible footwork, silky touch, and ice-cold composure under pressure. He’s stepped up in every situation—scoring last-minute penalties, filling in as goalkeeper, and leading by example. His versatility, work rate, and ability to shine in crucial moments have been vital to the team’s success. A true game-changer and a deserving nominee. Our own ice cold Palmer well done!

Under 15's

Our POTM nomination for December 2024 is Oliver Glebecki!!

We have been playing some outstanding football at times and creating a lot of chances which is great and shows our build up and approach play is working. However our shots to goals ratio needs to get better and has been a focus in training.

Oli has definitely had his shooting boots on, 3 goals in 2 games in December and thumping finishes! Also making sure he gets in positions to be able to create chances for himself and others. He always works hard as a striker to defend when we don’t have the ball and reset as needed which is crucial.

Well done Oli and good luck!

⚽️Jay & Simon ⚽️

The nominations were all strong, as always, but this month Sammy, Zayde, and Roy were all very close. We decide the winner by each committee member choosing their top 3 in order, and with it being a tie this time round, our winner was decided by the most 1st place selections, so congratulations to our December Player of the Month..... Roy!!!!
Our Under 7's team are brand new to the club, only just embarking on their football adventure together. There will be many highs for you all as a team in the future, and it's a pleasure to see one of you win this prestigious award to kick things off!
Congrats Roy, and a huge well done to everyone else nominated, especially Zayde and Sammy who were so close this month. Please keep up the hard work and keep playing with smiles on your faces!
Now that we're into January, who will be our first winner of 2025?
